Closing Team Leader — Target Join Target’s Closing Team Leader role to help our families discover everyday joy. As a Closing Team Leader, you’ll be responsible for ensuring guests have a positive experience, driving store sales and profitability, and managing closing routines and team performance. Understand and contribute to sales growth and store profitability. Lead and demonstrate closing routines, coaching team members and closing skill gaps. Problem‑solve and prioritize across business areas to deliver store strategies. Assist leaders through communication and collaboration on sales performance and workload. Support store operations, maintain consistent routines and ensure departments are properly stocked, signed and labeled. Use business‑planning tools to share priorities and updates with leadership. Take action to achieve performance goals. Evaluate candidates for open positions and build a guest‑centric team. Support onboarding, learning and development for team members. Set clear goals, expectations, and hold team members accountable. Follow all safety and security training and processes. Respond to store emergencies and compliance needs. Model ethical conduct, safety and compliance for the team. Maintain a safe and secure store environment through spotting hazards and responding to incidents. Greet guests and engage with them in a welcoming manner. Execute physical security processes, enhancing the store’s security culture. Support merchandise protection strategies and ordering, storage and application of best practices. Support guest services such as order pick‑up, drive‑up orders, returns and compliance with beverage laws. Perform additional duties as required by business needs. Skills You Should Have From the Get‑Go Previous retail experience preferred, but not required. High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum 18 years of age. Lead and hold others accountable. Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment. Work independently and as part of a team. Prioritize tasks and manage workload. Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and team members. Effective communication skills. Maintain composure in a fast‑paced environment and complete multiple tasks within established timeframes. Additional Basic Expectations Access all building areas to respond to guest or team member issues. Interpret instructions, reports and information. Accurately handle cash register operations as needed. Climb ladders and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including lifting up to 44 pounds. Flexible work schedule with reliable attendance required. Work in varying temperatures, humidity and other elements during tasks such as Drive‑Up, carry‑out, etc. Remain mobile throughout the shift (shift length may vary).
