Posting Text Position Overview: The Environmental Health and Safety Department at South Dakota Mines seeks an Environmental Health and Safety Officer. Duties include procuring, shipping, receiving and distributing chemicals and related items for use across campus, maintaining accurate chemical inventories, working with the storage, handling and disposal of waste chemicals on campus, and managing multiple departmental operational budgets. This is a regular, full-time, benefited position.
Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or related field is required at the time of the appointment. Applicant must be able to pass a physical examination to allow for wearing a respirator. The applicant should have the ability to squat, bend, kneel, stoop, reach overhead and lift 50 lbs.
