Job Description

Job Description

We’re looking for a hands-on EHS professional to support our facilities and help us continue strengthening a proactive, people-first safety culture. This role plays a critical part in protecting our employees, ensuring regulatory compliance, and partnering with operations, engineering, and leadership to prevent incidents before they happen. This is a visible, influential role for someone who enjoys being on the floor, collaborating cross‑functionally, and making a real impact every day.

About Company:

About Kendrick Plastics
Kendrick Plastics is a Tier 1.5 automotive supplier — built to move fast, think smart, and deliver results. We sit at the sweet spot between large Tier 1s and traditional Tier 2s, giving customers the best of both worlds: full-service capabilities with small-company speed and attention. Our products are on some of the best-selling vehicles in North America, and our team brings decades of experience in engineering, manufacturing, and operations.

We’re built differently — faster, leaner, and designed to win. If you’re the kind of person who takes ownership, solves problems with urgency, and wants to see the impact of your work every day, you’ll thrive here. Kendrick is a place where people grow quickly, are trusted to lead, and work alongside others who care just as much as they do.

Your Work Matters. So Do You.
At Kendrick, we invest in our people the same way we invest in our products — with care, intention, and a long-term view. Here’s what you get from day one:

  • 401(k) with 6% company match
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • HSA with employer contribution
  • Paid time off and life insurance
  • Flexible spending accounts and an employee assistance program

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree with 10+ years EHS experience, or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health, Environmental Management, or related field
  • ISO 14001 experience required; ISO 45001 preferred
  • Strong knowledge of EHS regulations, management systems, and flammable chemical processes
  • Proven ability to deliver effective safety training and presentations
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with audits, incident investigation, and regulatory compliance (EHS Internal Auditor a plus)
  • Required/preferred certifications: First Aid, HAZWOPER, RCRA, DOT, Stormwater (EGLE)
  • Ability to support a three-shift, two-location operation

Responsibilities:

✅ Leading EHS programs across two locations
✅ Advising leaders on safety risks, incidents, and regulatory requirements
✅ Managing incident investigations, root cause analysis, and 8D processes
✅ Maintaining MIOSHA compliance, injury/illness logs, and corrective actions
✅ Driving safety training, onboarding, and Safety Committee engagement
✅ Supporting workers’ compensation, return-to-work, and MOD rate management
✅ Serving as ISO 14001 Program Leader and Environmental Management Representative
✅ Ensuring compliance with air, water, waste, and emergency response requirements
✅ Actively promoting a strong safety culture through daily presence and intervention
