Job Overview Food & Beverage Team Leader at Target. Responsible for leading a team of hourly team members to deliver guest experience commitments, manage daily operations, inventory, safety and compliance, and support the overall performance of the Food & Beverage department. Responsibilities Consistently deliver guest experience commitments and ensure team members are trained to uphold Target’s standards. Plan and execute daily/weekly workload to achieve department and store sales goals, including merchandising, pricing, and promotional activities. Conduct Food & Beverage Daily Standards walks, monitor backroom and sales floor areas, and maintain food safety and quality. Assign and validate daily tasks for team members, ensuring alignment with business priorities. Lead team huddles and communicate focuses, trends, and store reporting. Develop and maintain vendor partnerships to secure product availability and brand standards. Support hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members. Participate in guest services such as back‑up cashier, order pick‑up, and drive‑up duties while maintaining compliance. Act as a subject‑matter expert on federal, state and local adult beverage laws and maintain the store’s liquor license when applicable. Model safety and security practices, identify hazards, and respond to incidents. Occasionally assume store‑level leadership on duty responsibilities when requested. Perform additional duties as required by business needs. Qualifications Minimum 18 years old, high school diploma or equivalent. Preferred: previous retail and/or food experience. Strong interest and knowledge of the Food & Beverage business. Demonstrated ability to lead and hold others accountable. Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency with handheld scanners, technology equipment and multiple frequency devices. Adaptability to a variable work schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays and peak shopping times. Physical ability to lift up to 44 lbs and work in refrigeration/freezer temperatures, with exposure to allergens and varying environmental conditions. Willingness to work in a fast‑paced, physically demanding environment.
