Fayette County Public Schools (FCPS) in Lexington, KY, is seeking a passionate and skilled Middle School French Instructor to help students develop essential language and cultural competencies. Join a district dedicated to global readiness and excellence in education.

• Position Type: Certified, Full-Time, Salary Position (189-day calendar)
• Salary Range: $50,586 to $89,619 per year (Based on verified education and related experience)
• Location: Lexington, KY
• Reports To: Principal

Core Responsibilities

• Instruction & Planning: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging French language instruction that aligns with curriculum goals and accommodates diverse learning styles, interests, and abilities of middle school students.
• Classroom Management: Establish a positive, safe, and motivating classroom environment that encourages student participation and maintains fair, just classroom behavior standards.
• Assessment & Feedback: Regularly assess student learning, provide progress reports, and diagnose learning needs, seeking specialist assistance as required.
• Professionalism: Maintain accurate records, assist in implementing district policies, and actively strive to improve professional competence through attendance at staff meetings and service on committees.
• Global Readiness: Demonstrate a willingness to communicate in or learn to communicate in more than one language at the novice level of proficiency.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Certification: Valid Kentucky Teaching Certification for the assigned area and grade level (Middle School French).
