Under the supervision of the Upstate Immunization Program Unit Manager, Immunization Site Reviewer performs disease intervention, epidemiology, and immunization duties for vaccine-preventable diseases and the immunization program in the Department of Public Health (DPH) Upstate area. Participates as a member of the DPH Upstate area Immunization Team to ensure the federal and state requirements of the Immunization Program are met. Effectively represents DPH as a knowledgeable resource for immunizations and vaccine-preventable diseases to health care providers, schools, day care facilities, and other pertinent community agencies.
Conducts Vaccines for Children (VFC) / Immunization Quality Improvement for Providers (IQIP) Program, and Adult Program Provider Site Visits. On an annual basis conduct all assigned VFC/IQIP/Adult provider visits and required follow-up visits as determined by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) VFC and IQIP Programs. Create a site visit schedule for VFC/IQIP/Adult to ensure completion of all site visits for VFC/IQIP/Adult visits within the fiscal year. As applicable, coordinate and conduct all assigned new providers enrollments, dis-enrollments and storage and handling site visits as directed by Immunization Program Unit Manager or Immunization Operations Section (IOS) Vaccine Operations Programmatic staff. Enter all required documentation into CDC software application Provider Education Assessment and Reporting (PEAR) and Immunization Quality Improvement for Providers (IQIP) and DPH Research Electronic Data Capture (Redcap) for adult site visit reporting within two working days of the site visit completion. Conduct the transfer of vaccine from one provider to another under the direction of the Immunization Program Unit Manager or IOS VFC/IQIP Programmatic staff. As applicable, support the Immunization (IZ) Compliance Auditor in conducting / scheduling and educating childcare / daycare / school audit and 45-day reports review and follow-up within the regions ensuring compliance with agency required deadlines per policy and applicable federal / state laws. As directed by Immunization Compliance Unit Manager assist with regional and state immunization activities of the public health community as needed.
Prepare timely and accurate reports that support decision-making, ensuring that data sources are validated and that reporting processes are consistent and transparent. Collaborate across teams to identify recurring challenges and recommend process improvements that enhance efficiency, compliance, and service delivery. Incorporate continuous improvement practices into daily work by identifying inefficiencies, suggesting process enhancements, and ensuring accuracy in tasks that contribute to overall program success. Participate in all agency and programmatic required trainings as determined by Immunization Program Unit Manager or IOS leadership on updates to the VFC, IQIP, South Carolina Infectious Disease & Outbreak Reporting Network (SCION), and Annual Immunization Certificate, etc. Assist with immunization provider trainings and outreach as dictated by immunization activities. Other duties as required.
Minimum and Additional Requirements State Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma and relevant program experience.
Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. Agency Additional Requirements: A bachelor's degree may be substituted for required program experience. Position will require use of personal vehicle and a valid SC Driver's license to fulfill the extensive travel, within the DPH Upstate geographic area, that is needed to meet the requirements of this position. Must be able to bend, stoop and lift 30 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications A bachelor's degree; or an associate degree with at least two (2) years public health experience in disease intervention, epidemiology or immunization programs; or a high school diploma with at least three (3) years public health experience in disease intervention, epidemiology or immunization programs.
