Location: This position is remote in the US only.

About the Role
We're looking for a Senior Software Test Engineer (Consultant level) who thrives in a manual QA-focused environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality software. In this role, you'll work closely with business and technology teams to validate complex systems, ensure reliability, and drive quality across the development lifecycle.

This position is ideal for someone who brings strong hands-on testing expertise and enjoys influencing quality practices. Experience in the insurance domain-especially policy, claims, or employer benefits-is highly valued .

What You'll Do
  • Lead manual testing efforts for enterprise applications and system enhancements
  • Design and execute test cases, scenarios, and test data based on business requirements
  • Partner with stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure test coverage
  • Participate in design reviews, sprint planning, and test strategy discussions
  • Identify, document, and track defects through resolution
  • Support integration, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Recommend improvements to testing processes, tools, and quality standards
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior QA team members
What You Bring

  • 5-8+ years of experience in software testing (manual QA focus)
  • Strong expertise in test design, execution, and defect management
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Nice to Have
  • Experience in Insurance systems (Policy, Claims, Employer Benefits preferred)
  • Exposure to test automation tools (Katalon, Selenium, Playwright, etc.)
  • Familiarity with API testing and tools like Postman
  • Experience with SpiraTest , Azure DevOps, JIRA or similar tools
  • QA certifications (e.g., ISTQB)
Pay Range: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour, depending upon experience.
