Medical AssistantJoin a fast-paced OB/GYN practice providing inclusive, full-spectrum obstetric and gynecological care. Our MA/CTA team collaborates closely with triage and office RNs, fostering a cohesive, team-based environment where everyone shares the work, supports one another, and remains focused on delivering patient-centered care.Schedule & Work-Life BalanceFour 9-hour shifts per week with a consistent day offNo evenings, weekends, major holidays, or on-call requirementsKey Responsibilities This is a primarily clinical role with responsibilities that include:Rooming patients and partnering closely with providersPerforming appropriate screeningsAssisting with in-office proceduresSupporting referrals and medical leave documentationGrowth OpportunitiesOpportunities for advancement through the Medical Assistant clinical ladderSummary: The Medical Assistant (MA) role is assigned duties and responsibilities related to patient care and administrative support in a team-based environment while promoting a smooth flow of patients through the office. The Medical Assistant MA role functions under the license of the physician/advanced practice practitioner when performing clinical and other patient care responsibilities.Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following requirements: Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis).License/Certifications: Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT certification required. (Prior to 5/01/25 MA IIs with 10 years MA experience and employed by MaineHealth as a MA in the most recent 5 years are exempt from certification requirement). Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. A NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for those positions located in New Hampshire.Experience: Six months of experience as a Medical Assistant or one year as a MaineHealth Clinical Team Assistant.Additional Skills/Requirements Required: N/AAdditional Skills/Requirements Preferred: N/AHiring Scam AlertMaineHealth will never request financial information during the interview or pre-hiring process.
