Job Description

NeuroBridge is seeking a compassionate and clinically skilled Neuropsychiatric Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our interdisciplinary outpatient neurological and behavioral health team. The provider will work collaboratively with physicians, rehabilitation specialists, and multidisciplinary team members to provide comprehensive care to patients with neurological and psychiatric conditions, as well as individuals seeking preventative neurological wellness services.

This role focuses on evaluating, diagnosing, treating, and managing patients in an outpatient clinic environment. The ideal candidate will have experience caring for patients with neurological and psychiatric conditions and will be committed to delivering patient-centered care through a collaborative, holistic approach to brain health and recovery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive neurological and psychiatric histories, evaluations, and assessments.
  • Evaluate and manage patients with neurological conditions including stroke recovery, traumatic brain injury (TBI), multiple sclerosis, peripheral neuropathy, movement disorders, headache disorders, memory concerns, and other neurological diagnoses.
  • Evaluate and manage patients with psychiatric and behavioral health conditions including depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD, ADHD, mood disorders, cognitive disorders, and other neuropsychiatric conditions.
  • Develop comprehensive differential diagnoses and individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Prescribe and manage neurological and psychiatric medications in accordance with applicable state regulations and provider scope of practice.
  • Monitor treatment effectiveness, medication adherence, and potential side effects.
  • Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic testing, including laboratory studies, neuroimaging, and other assessments consistent with clinical judgment, scope of practice, and clinic protocols.
  • Provide ongoing follow-up care and chronic disease management for neurological and neuropsychiatric conditions.
  • Educate patients and caregivers regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, lifestyle modifications, and preventative brain health strategies.
  • Coordinate care with physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, mental health professionals, hyperbaric medicine providers, primary care physicians, and other specialists involved in the patient's treatment plan.
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support NeuroBridge’s mission of delivering exceptional patient experiences.
  • Stay current with evidence-based practices in neurology, psychiatry, neuropsychiatry, and emerging approaches to brain health.

Required Qualifications

  • Current and unrestricted license as a Neuropsychiatric Physician Assistant (PA-C) in the state of Texas.
  • Graduate of an accredited medical school or Physician Assistant program.
  • Board certification or eligibility through the appropriate national certifying organization.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience in neurology, psychiatry, neuropsychiatry, behavioral health, physical medicine and rehabilitation, internal medicine, family medicine, or a related specialty.
  • Experience evaluating and treating patients with neurological and/or psychiatric diagnoses.
  • Experience working in an outpatient specialty clinic setting preferred.
  • Familiarity with psychotropic medication management and behavioral health treatment plans.
  • Experience with EMR systems and specialty clinic workflows.

Work Environment

  • Primarily outpatient neurological specialty clinic setting.
  • Standard clinic hours, Monday through Friday.
  • Limited evening or weekend responsibilities based on clinic needs.
  • Collaborative environment alongside physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, nursing staff, and administrative team members.
