Security Associate

The Hobby Center's Security Associate is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment protecting the welfare and property of all employees, tenants, performers, production staff, contractors, visitors, patrons, teachers, students, and other users of the Hobby Center by monitoring and patrolling premises and personnel. They respond to all situations as dispatched or observed, helping in an expedient and professional manner. In addition to maintaining a high level of integrity and accountability, they respect the values, culture, and beliefs of others while providing superior security services.

This position will require working 8-hour shifts typically 8am-4pm, 4pm-12am, or 12am-8am depending on employee preference and organizational needs as scheduled among the security team. Opportunities for overtime are available depending on event schedules and required coverage.

Responsibilities may be modified as needed to meet the organizational goals and employee strengths.

Skills and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years' experience as a security guard.
• Possession of or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment, Texas Private Security Non-Commissioned Security Officer license.
• Helpful, courteous attitude with a focus on customer service.
• Excellent communication skills (written & verbal).
• Proficiency with computers and aptitude to learn new applications.
• Ability to operate a golf cart in a safe manner.
• Experience with security equipment and surveillance systems is desirable.

Compensation

The Hobby Center offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, a 403b savings plan with matching employer contributions, mobile phone stipend, parking, and paid time off. The anticipated hiring range for this position is $19.00 to $21.00 hourly.
