SEO SpecialistThe Moran Group is a full-service advertising agency specializing in strategic marketing solutions across digital, traditional, and emerging media. We partner with clients in industries including automotive, healthcare, and retail, helping brands grow through creative, innovative, and data-driven marketing strategies.We are seeking an experienced, resourceful SEO Specialist to join our Digital Team. Reporting to the SEO Manager, the SEO Specialist will be part of a collaborative SEO team that includes Junior SEO Specialists and an SEO Intern. This is not a standalone SEO role—the Specialist will have the support of colleagues who share responsibility for developing, coordinating, and executing search engine optimization strategies across a diverse portfolio of agency clients. The position will also collaborate closely with content, account service, web, analytics, and other digital team members to turn client goals into actionable strategies and measurable results.We are particularly interested in candidates located in or around the Greater Baton Rouge or Greater New Orleans areas. This is a hybrid position with regular in-office expectations and the flexibility to work remotely on designated days.Position OverviewThis is an exciting time for SEO and digital marketing. Search engines are integrating AI-generated answers, conversational experiences, and new visibility and ranking signals—creating both challenges and opportunities for brands and marketers.At The Moran Group, we are actively adapting alongside these changes. We are exploring new strategies, tools, and approaches to help our clients remain visible and competitive across traditional search engines, AI-powered search experiences, local search platforms, and other digital discovery channels.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute SEO strategies aligned with each client's business objectives, audience, industry, and competitive landscapeDefine SEO goals, priorities, requirements, tasks, timelines, and resources for a portfolio of agency clientsConduct keyword, topic, audience, competitor, and search-intent researchPerform technical, on-page, content, local, and off-site SEO auditsIdentify opportunities to improve organic visibility, website traffic, engagement, conversions, and search presenceOptimize website pages, landing pages, blog posts, digital press releases, metadata, internal linking, and other digital contentDevelop content recommendations, briefs, and priorities based on search demand, client goals, and competitive researchCollaborate with writers, designers, developers, account managers, and other digital specialists to implement SEO recommendationsMonitor website performance and search visibility using analytics, search performance, ranking, and reporting platformsPrepare recurring reports that clearly explain performance, trends, insights, completed work, and recommended next stepsCommunicate SEO strategies, priorities, results, and industry developments to internal teams and, when appropriate, clientsManage local and off-site optimization efforts, including Google Business Profiles, directory listings, YouTube channels, and other relevant platformsMaintain content accuracy, consistency, and organization across client websites and digital propertiesTrack branded search trends, competitive developments, algorithm changes, and emerging search behaviorsEvaluate how AI-generated search experiences and conversational discovery affect client visibility and content strategySupport and help guide junior team members, interns, or content contributors as neededManage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced agency environmentQualificationsTwo or more years of professional SEO, organic search, digital content, or closely related experience preferredWorking knowledge of on-page, technical, content, local, and off-site SEO principlesExperience conducting keyword research, SEO audits, competitive research, and content optimizationExperience using website analytics and search performance platforms, such as Google Analytics and Google Search ConsoleAbility to work across different websites, content management systems, and digital platformsStrong writing, editing, proofreading, and research skillsAbility to interpret data, identify meaningful trends, and translate findings into practical recommendationsStrong organizational, project-management, and problem-solving skillsExcellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing prioritiesClear, professional communication and collaboration skillsAbility to work effectively across departments and explain SEO concepts to both technical and nontechnical audiencesCuriosity about emerging search technologies, AI-driven discovery, and changes in user search behaviorAbility to learn new tools and adapt strategies as platforms and best practices evolveExperience in an advertising agency or with multiple simultaneous client accounts is a plusExperience with local SEO, structured data, website platforms, SEO tools, or content strategy is a plusA degree in marketing, communications, English, business, or a related field is helpful but not required when supported by relevant experienceWhat Success Looks LikeA successful SEO Specialist will keep client strategies organized and moving forward, communicate priorities clearly, uncover actionable opportunities through research and data, and help clients improve their visibility across an increasingly complex search landscape.
