West Side Telecommunications, Morgantown WV, a subsidiary of TelAtlantic Communications, Inc., a provider of telecommunications and broadband services, is accepting resumes from qualified candidates for the full-time position of Telecommunications Technician
We are seeking a dependable Telecommunications Interconnect Technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot fiber, broadband, voice, and network systems for residential and commercial customers.
Duties include but not limited to:
· Install, terminate, and test CAT5/CAT6, coaxial, and fiber optic cabling.
· Install and configure modems, routers, switches, cable boxes, and networking/Telecommunications equipment.
· Troubleshoot and repair telecomm equipment and network issues from the central office to the customer location.
· Install fiber, copper, and coax cabling for new and existing services business and residential.
· Climb poles, work in attics/crawl spaces, and perform underground cable installation as needed.
· Provide excellent customer service and educate customers on equipment and services.
Qualifications:
· Experience with telecommunications, broadband, fiber, or structured cabling preferred.
· Knowledge of CAT5/CAT6, coaxial, and fiber optic cabling.
· Ability to read wiring diagrams and schematics.
· Experience using OTDRs, TDRs, cable testers, and punch-down tools preferred.
· Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
· Fiber splicing experience is a plus.
