Unarmed Foot Patrol Officer – Downtown Santa Monica
Part-Time / Full-Time (24–40 Hours Per Week)
Santa Monica, California
Legion Corporation is currently hiring professional Unarmed Foot Patrol Officers for assignments in the Downtown Santa Monica area, including the 3rd Street Promenade, Santa Monica Farmers Market, and surrounding properties.
This is a highly visible public-facing position requiring professionalism, strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to proactively engage with the community while maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.
Officers will conduct active foot patrols throughout multiple high-traffic zones, including:
3rd Street Promenade
Santa Monica Farmers Market
1320 5th St, Santa Monica, CA 90401
Adjacent retail, dining, and public access areas
Primary Responsibilities
Conduct proactive foot patrols throughout assigned zones
Maintain a highly visible security presence
Engage professionally with tenants, visitors, vendors, and members of the public
Observe, document, and report suspicious activity or safety concerns
Respond appropriately to incidents and requests for assistance
Complete Daily Activity Reports and Incident Reports accurately and on time
Support client property rules and maintain order within assigned areas
Work collaboratively with fellow officers, supervisors, and emergency responders when needed
Minimum Qualifications
Active California Guard Card
Baton Permit
Pepper Spray Certification
Handcuffing Certification
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Open availability, including weekends and holidays
Minimum 1 year of security experience (or equivalent military/law enforcement experience)
Required Documentation
Applicants must be able to provide:
Valid California Driver’s License
Social Security Card or valid work authorization documents
Permanent Resident Card or Work Permit (if applicable)
Guard Card and all applicable certifications
DD-214 showing Honorable Discharge (if applicable)
