Experienced Housekeeping / Laundry Supervisor
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Housekeeping / Laundry Supervisor to join our team at Nightingale at Arkadelphia. As a key member of our housekeeping and laundry team, you will be responsible for supervising the day-to-day activities of our Housekeeping and Laundry Departments, ensuring our facility is maintained in a clean, safe, sanitary, and comfortable manner. If you have housekeeping and laundry experience in a Long-Term Care (LTC) facility and are eager to lead a team, we encourage you to apply.
Responsibilities:
Interview, review previous employment, and hire new employees for Housekeeping & Laundry with approval of the Administrator
Assist new employees in the completion of all necessary employment paperwork
Orient and train housekeeping and laundry department personnel
Assign personnel to specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments
Ensure personnel are performing assigned tasks in accordance with established housekeeping & laundry procedures
Interpret department policies and procedures to new housekeeping and laundry personnel
Train assigned personnel in the proper techniques of mixing chemicals, cleaning disinfectants, and cleaning methods, use of equipment, etc.
Review job description and duty assignment with new department personnel as directed
Review complaints/grievances of department personnel and make oral/written recommendations and reports to the Administrator
Ensure assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable, and attractive manner
Ensure housekeeping and laundry personnel follow established safety precautions when performing tasks and using equipment and supplies
Coordinate routine/terminal isolation procedures with nursing service
Report all hazardous conditions or equipment to the Administrator
Ensure established infection control and universal precautions practices are maintained
Conduct daily inspections of assigned work areas to ensure cleanliness and sanitary conditions are maintained
Ensure refuse is disposed of daily and in accordance with our established sanitation procedures
Requirements:
2+ years of experience in housekeeping and laundry in a Long-Term Care (LTC) facility
High School diploma or equivalent required
