Position Overview

The Locksmith Technician is an integral part of Flylock Security Solutions and plays a key role in supporting the companys growth and customer satisfaction. This is a hands-on, technical position suited for an individual with a strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving mindset.

We are seeking a motivated professional who not only has locksmithing experience but is also interested in expanding their skillset into door hardware, automatic doors, and access control systems .

The ideal candidate must be able to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced commercial service environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform service calls and emergency work orders for commercial clients
  • Install, repair, and maintain commercial door hardware
  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain access control systems and electrified locking hardware
  • Perform lock rekeying, pinning, and key system maintenance
  • Create, manage, and maintain master key systems
  • Cut keys by code and duplicate keys as needed
  • Modify and retrofit doors and hardware for proper lock installation
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and low-voltage issues in the field
  • Read and interpret work orders, schedules, and technical diagrams
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle in proper working condition
  • Communicate clearly with customers regarding scope of work and recommendations
  • Complete all required documentation accurately and on time (notes, photos, job details)
Operations Support

  • Receive and execute verbal and written instructions from management and clients
  • Assist with small projects and installations as directed
  • Maintain communication with office staff regarding job status, materials, and scheduling
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills

  • Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience in locksmithing, door hardware, access control, or related trades
  • Experience with commercial hardware and master key systems required
  • Safe and vault experience is a strong plus
  • Access control experience is highly preferred
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability (low voltage)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and wiring diagrams
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Team-oriented with a positive, professional attitude
  • Valid drivers license and ability to operate a company vehicle safely
  • Must be able to pass a background check
Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, push, and pull at least 50 lbs
  • Ability to kneel, crouch, and work in confined spaces
  • Ability to reach above and below shoulder level
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights
  • Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments in varying weather conditions
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
