Revenue Cycle Medical Billing MVC (Auto) Representative

Work Location: Remote or On-Site, United States

Hourly Compensation: $17 (this position is bonus eligible)

Work Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hrs/wk, M-F 8am 5pm Central

Job Summary

The MVC (Auto) Representative works with law enforcement agencies, auto insurance carriers, patients and medical partners to verify coverage and submit applicable claims of debt. Must be able to engage critical thinking and problem-solving skills to successfully research auto (accident) related transports, and translate coverages into claims. Applicants must be comfortable with professional telephone communication to obtain appropriate billing information.

Essential Functions/Duties
  • Utilize telephone and on-line resources to research auto (accident) related transports.
  • Complete adjuster follow-ups.
  • Analyze and process incoming payor discovery reports.
  • Process check requests for the purchase of accident reports.
  • Work to achieve team and departmental goals.
  • Work effectively as a member of a team.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

  • Ability to define and identify problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers in a positive and productive manner
  • Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart confidential information
  • Ability to prioritize duties and manage time efficiently to meet quality and quantity metrics

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of one (1) year in healthcare Revenue Cycle billing environment
  • Must be fluent in English
  • Ability to work Independently and as an active member of a team
  • Knowledge and experience of computers and related technology, at an intermediate level
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Suite products at an intermediate level; Word, Excel, Outlook, and Office 365
  • Must possess empathetic and professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have/maintain a HIPAA compliant workspace with both audio and visual protection of patient information
  • Must be able to work uninterrupted while on the clock

Preferred Experience:

  • Minimum of one (6) months working in a call center environment and/or customer service position
  • Above average knowledge of auto insurance coverages and types
  • Prior experience working with home owner insurance carriers

Preferred Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, or significant relevant work experience
